Here’s an excerpt from the blog post.
The end of chapter two gives us two beautiful texts mentioned in the New Testament. First, "I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see vision." This statement is fulfilled on the day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2. Peter tells us as much in his first address to the crowds. Second, we read, "It shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved." Paul utilizes this text in Romans to remind the reader of the hope of salvation for all who believe. It is important to see how the New Testament writers use and quote the Old Testament. It gives us insight into how the people of the day understood the OT and frames for us how we should read these texts.
