Submission is seen as somewhat of a negative word in this day and age. But it doesn't have to be that way. In the book Celebration of Discipline by Richard Foster, he describes submission as the act of denying ourselves to give way to others. It's the ability to lay down the terrible burden of always needing to get our own way. How much better would your life be if you were able to lay that burden down?
