There are over 400,000 children in U.S. foster care and 350,000 churches in the U.S. If every church had someone in it who would adopt one child, we could solve this problem. During this Episode of the podcast, pastor Alex has a conversation with his old friend Eric Porter, the CEO and founder of Backyard Orphans. James 1:27 says, “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this, to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” Backyard Orphans guides church leaders to develop a foster care, adoption, and support ministry.
Alex Bryant Ministries is focused on helping people be reconciled to God, then within one’s own self, and finally being reconciled to our fellow man in order to become disciples.

Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill was arrested for speeding last Sunday before the game. The situation escalated rather quickly and ended up with Tyreek being pulled from his car and facedown on the ground in handcuffs. Then, social media erupted. Would this have happened to Tyreek if he were white? Pastor Alex posted a video on Facebook that received thousands of views and hundreds of comments. In this episode of the podcast, we will play Alex's message followed by a conversation with his old college football buddy, Derrick McBride. Enjoy the conversation.

This is a fun episode between Pastor Alex and one of his good friends, Adam DeVizia. They talk about kids (they have 11 between the two of them), ministry, and what it’s like being a DUDE. Both of these guys are doing ministry for men and they sit down to discuss what it’s like to lead other men in this society that doesn’t focus on masculinity.

In our society today, social media gives us the opportunity to disagree with people on a daily basis. Everyone has the opportunity to post their point of view and we can all comment. Contrary to popular belief, I want to point out that just because you disagree with someone does not mean you are bullying them. We have to learn a better way to interact with people who don’t see things the same way we do. Check it out.

Candace Owens has been an important voice to this generation of young conservatives. She came on the scene several years ago with her thought provoking questions that she wasn’t afraid to ask and encouraged all of us to ask. She is sharp, articulate, and extremely smart. That’s a good thing, right? Well, we must remember that our biggest strengths can also be our biggest weaknesses. And it appears that Candace has fallen into the old trap of having her knowledge lead to arrogance. She is making some wild assertions about Israel and other world leaders that has left many scratching our heads and wondering if she has gone off the rails. You may be wondering the same thing after listening to this episode.

I posted about this on Facebook a week or so ago and got a lot of feedback from this, but I’m going to say it again loud and proud… We must PROTECT women’s sports. Girls, women, females, people with XX chromosomes should ONLY compete against other people who are the same as them! This most recent example of two non-biological females winning gold medals in women’s boxing should never be allowed. That’s just not right!

We all watched the blatant blasphemy during the opening ceremony of the Olympics. In spite of what some are trying to say, it was absolutely offensive to Christians. Social media was buzzing with people wanting to weigh in on it. One of the best responses came from Dr. Darryl Wootton, pastor and leader in Oklahoma. His response has been shared almost ten thousand times on Facebook. I wanted to have a conversation with him about his strong, yet gracious response. He lays out the truth of why it was offensive, challenges us to acknowledge no other religion would have been ridiculed in this way, yet in the end, he brings the focus back to our mission as Christians, which is to help people know Christ. Pastor Alex and Dr. Darryl had a good discussion.

Growing up, my dad was meticulous about the way he wanted our lawn mowed each week. He taught me what to do and then he kept a close eye on me while I completed the task. My dad taught me early in life that if you don’t have time to do something right the first time, you won’t have time to do it over. He inspected what he expected. If my dad did this with something as fleeting as mowing the lawn, how much more important do you think it is for us to do this with the way we live our lives. The book of Ephesians encourages us to live as children of the light. That’s not something we do once and are done. We have to make “right living” a lifestyle. It requires us inviting God to INSPECT us, as well as us taking the time to INSPECT ourselves.
