Here’s an excerpt from the blog post.
While the first three chapters of this short book took 8-9 years, the final seven chapters of the book cover only 11 months. Haman made his plan to destroy the Jews in the first month of the 12th year of the King. On the 23rd day of the third month of the 12th year, Queen Esther revealed to the King that she was a Jew and that Haman's plan would mean her certain destruction as well. She also revealed her familial tie to Mordecai.
The King condemns Haman to death, elevates Mordecai to power, and issues a decree that the Jews are allowed to defend themselves on the day they find themselves confronted. (in the 12th month of the same year) Nine months later, people in the towns and rural areas raised themselves against the Jews, but God gave the Jews victory over their enemies. God has once again faithfully preserved his people. He will again. Though now, for our sakes, the Jews have been hardened so that the Gentiles can come to faith; we know that the Jews, in the last days, will be awakened to salvation in Jesus, for "The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." (Romans 11:25,29)
