As the world is still in the midst of a pandemic, the Black community is dying from two viruses, COVID-19 and racism! We're in a Black State of Emergency as our community is significantly impacted, not only by the virus, but also from the effects of ongoing systemic oppression. We courageously discuss our personal past and current experiences, as well as our views on why #BlackLivesMatter, THEN and NOW!

Call to Action:

• Be honest about how you are feeling right now-this is the time to speak up
• Be courageous and use your gifts in the movement - We are all needed in this fight
• Don't give up

Call to Action for Non-Black Listeners:

• GRACE to the Black people in your life - We are hurting
  • Acknowledge what you know that you see what is going on
• Have those courageous discussions - Start with your children
• LISTEN and LEARN more (plentiful resources available incl books, etc)
• Be accountable for the role you play - Actively work to become ANTI-Racist
  • Start by calling out family members for their racism
  • Use your White Privilege and Power
