Jacki is joined by Rob Henneke, General Counsel and Director for the Center for the American Future at the Texas Public Policy Foundation, to review their latest victory in the federal courts – a victory for the 5th and 8th Amendment. A town in Michigan attempted to run roughshod over the rights of Mr. Powelson, a business owner who dared to cut down a tree on his own property to clean a drain that the city refused to maintain, causing flooding and mosquito infestation of his property. The city fined him $47,000.00! He sued under the takings clause and argued that the fine was excessive under the 8th Amendment and won! Next, Jacki is joined by Steven Hotze, M.D., to discuss government overreach in the wake of COVID-19, specifically the case of Shelley Luther, salon owner in Dallas who was jailed for operating her salon. Finally, Jacki talks to geologist, Gregory Wrightstone, author of the best-selling book, Inconvenient Facts: The Science Al Gore Does not Want You to Know. – Jacki answers questions from, Scott, a listener in the West Texas oil patch.
