On the day after Thanksgiving 2020, Instagram influencer/businesswoman Alexis Sharkey stopped responding to texts and posting on social media. Her friends reported her missing on Saturday afternoon. Unbeknownst to them, a city worker had already found her nude body laying in some brush. Her mysterious death drew global attention, but the story's resolution is sadly all too common.
