Personal best (PB) and personal record (PR), two words that arguably mean the same thing. Or do they? In 2015, I learned firsthand what it felt like to run a personal best and it didn't really have anything to do with my pace. I was giving everything I had with joy every step of the painful way. It was the closest I'd ever come to embracing pain in a way that was actually fun.
So when you're chasing a goal that feels impossible, fills you with doubt, and scares the crap out of you, the only way you'll give your best is if you're having fun because having fun forces you to be present.
