If I had a nickel for every time someone asked me about riding alone, I'd have more nickels than the average person. The truth is that I ride alone all the time. I take precautions to mitigate risk, but at the end of the day, we are always managing risks with everything we do. For me, the benefits outweigh the risks because I get recharged when I'm in solitude in the mountains or desert in a way that I don't get when I'm in a group of people.
When I'm alone, I feel things differently. I see things differently. I experience the world in a way that really helps to center me. In short, I love it. Yes, it's okay to ride alone. I mean, you are in more danger driving to the riding location than you are when you are riding, but there is usually someone there to call 911 on the highways and byways. In the wild, it might be a while. I'm okay with that. Are you?
