Lets be honest….things are not good. 

To be fair,  You have to start with all the injuries. This is not the team that we bad high expectations for..right?

No McClain, no marte, practically no freidl. Those are three very important players on this team for a number of different reasons.

But doesn’t every team have injuries? The Dodgers havents had ⅗ of their starting rotation and they keep on rollin. They made it three straight over the reds yesterday, winning 3-2 in the bottom of the tenth inning on a shoehei ohtahni based hit. 

The Reds played 10 games on their west coast swing…..won 3.

They’ve lost 18 of their last 23 games. They are 9 games under .500, the worst they’ve been since the end of the 100-loss-fiasco that was 2022.

Is it gonna get better? You tell me.

The starting pitching has been simply fantastic….so that gives you reason for hope. 

Hunter Greene is turning into a stud….ghe’s nogt there yet but he’s bangin on the door.

Bangin is something the reds NEVER do….especially when it matters. 

They scored 34 runs TOTAL on the road gtrip…10!

And as great as Elly has been this year, he;s gotta drive in the run in the seventh. The only way they scored with the bases loaded and nobody out is on a walk to steer….another guy who can’t buy a hit.

The team is 8 ½ games out first, in dead last in the nl central . Is the season over? I say no it’s not. Many are sayin g that it is…..it’s on;y may 20th.

Cincinnati opens a nine-game  homestand tomorrow night against the san diego padres before the dodgers roll into town starting friday night.

On to the nba playoffs…….is anybody watching ? I gotta be honest, I’m nt a big nba guy during the regular season but the post-season is a totally different deal.

Yesterday, a pair of gane sevens…..

It started in new york where the pacers wiped out the knicks to advance to the eastern conference finals.

Was NY in jured? No doubt.

Is that the reason they lost games six and seven ? No chance.

Indiana shot 76 percent from the field in the first half and 67 percent in the game. Both marks are the highest ever in an nba plahyoff game.

We always here how tough and gritty new york teams are right? Defense is tough and its gritty. The knicks didn’t do it so their stretch of 20 plus years without a trip to a conference final is alive and well.

In the west, Minnesota has been to a conference championship series once in its history…..THAT was 20 years ago…….UNTIL NOW.

At one point in the third quarter, Denver— the reigning nba champions—-was up by 20 points.

The Twolves looked dead in the water….and then they werent.

Why? Defenese.

They hold the nuggets to 14 points in the third quarter and roaR BACK TO WIN 98-90.

SO THE CONFERENCE FINALS have the twolves against dallas starting wednesday night.

The Pacers against the top-seed boston celtics beginning tomorrow night.

The monkey is off the back of zander schauffle. This guys been a great player for a long time but never won the big one. That’s now all in the past.

Schauffle drilled a birdie putt on the final hole to edge Bryson DeChambeau by one stroke to win his first major, the pga championship.

His final total was the lowest score in a major ever.
