At school, during music class, the teacher announced auditions for the upcoming school musical. Liam got very excited when he heard this because he loved musicals.  His mom had taken him to see a few musicals at the local playhouse, and Liam enjoyed everything about the experience: from the music and singing to the dancing and the costumes.

Liam and his mom had talked many times about musicals. He always said the performers looked like they were having so much fun. One time, Liam asked how people got to be onstage. His mom explained that they had to audition, which meant the performer had to show their skills to the people who choose the cast. Then, his mom added that she thought Liam would be a wonderful performer. This made Liam’s heart feel full.
