In this episode we interviewed a close friend of the family Jesse Jackson Jr. Jesse is a retired grazing specialist working under the Department of Agriculture. Jesse worked all over the country, but in the last 10 years of his employment he served in our corner of the state of south east Iowa. I contacted Jesse over his work in using oak savannas as areas for grazing animals. Encourging landowners to work with what you got and those ideas made dividends! This was a different conversation, but it is something for landowners to ponder to create better habitat and relationships with farmers and ranchers by ressurecting this dying biome we call: Oak Savanna.
