Bear Quitugua is the founder of Shoyoroll, a martial arts lifestyle brand specializing in fight wear for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu; heavily influenced by reggae culture, skating, surfing and Bear's roots in Guam. Bear was first exposed to Jiu-Jitsu in 98', immersed in the island-culture of Guam where localism is heavy, core values are respected and everyone has to know how to fight. He started Shoyoroll out of a garage making a few shirts using an ink-jet printer for the purpose of having something unique to wear that represented his crew of friends. Today Shoyoroll has become one of the most influential Jiu-Jitsu brands in the world. We speak on Vale Tudo roots, Judo origins and philosophy, growing up in Guam, what BJJ was like in the late 90's and more.
