SP One is a graffiti writer raised in Queens who has been active since 1981; an era when graffiti was prominent on New York’s subway system and the Vandal Squad’s aim was to uphold the Clean Car Program of 1984. SP began Skills Magazine, featuring the likes of Mobb Deep, DUEL, Black Moon, DESA, amongst others. The magazine was an extension of SP’s interest in collage. SP’s fine art practice developed throughout years of drawing, cut-and-paste projects and painting which led to his eventual life long career and practice of making art.
