WILL GOV. YOUNGKIN RUN FOR PRESIDENT? 🤔 If Virginia’s Governor Glenn Youngkin bounces to compete in the 2024 presidential race it could lead to a historic ascension for Virginia’s first Black woman Lt. Governor, Winsome Sears. Lauren Burke and Maurice Hawkins are going to toss around that hypothetical scenario, unlikely thought it may be, on episode 13 of the Black Virginia News podcast.

Is Youngkin a relative moderate or a MAGA wolf in sheep’s clothing? Would the MAGA wing of the Republican Party, now unrecognizable to Reagan era conservatives, ever support Youngkin? Is Youngkin even running? It’s anyone guess but we’re going to analyze all the possible scenarios.

The news of another indictment for former President Donald Trump could make this hypothetical question even more possible. Of course, the unlikely scenario of an incumbent President, Joe Biden, losing in 2024 would also have to happen. So far, Gov. Youngkin has been at the bottom of presidential polling. But we here at Black Virginia News are old enough to remember Glenn Youngkin being a long shot no-name political novice with “no chance” in 2021 to win the Governorship in Virginia.
