"You’re not too much—you’ve just been trained to believe your presence requires permission." -- Meg

I had a moment recently on a plane that stopped me in my tracks—I caught myself wanting to apologize to the man next to me… for simply existing in the space I paid for. And it made me realize: this isn’t about the plane. This is a pattern. So many of us move through the world assuming we’re an inconvenience, adjusting ourselves in real time to make other people more comfortable.
In this episode, I break down where that comes from, why it’s so common (especially for empathetic, self-aware people), and what I’ve learned about the difference between people who take up space and people who shrink. We talk about the subtle ways we ask for permission to exist—and how to shift into someone who assumes they belong, without becoming someone you’re not.
If you’ve ever felt like you needed to be smaller to be accepted, this episode will help you see it—and start to change it.
