Attorney General Jason Miyares is working to keep the conversation off of his record as President Donald Trump continues to violate the constitution and send the military into American cities. A text messaging story that put the spotlight on his Democratic challenger, former Delegate Jay Jones, has assisted Miyares a great deal in changing the subject off of himself and Trump.

Will a lack of vocal support by top Democrat in Virginia for Jay Jones impact Democratic gubernatorial nominee and former Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger? Unlikely, since Spanberger maintains a strong polling lead in a race were here challenger, current Lt. Governor Winsome Earle-Sears focuses a questionable amount of attention on trans bathroom issues. Paul Goldman and Lauren Burke discuss the history and the current “state of play with Jay” in Virginia.

Paul Goldman is an attorney based in Richmond. He served as campaign manager for the historic and successful campaign of Governor L. Douglas Wilder. He was also a Chairman of the Democratic Party of Virginia.
