This was the Sunday for the installation of Dr. Rick Asche as one of our associate pastors at Epiclesis. As we welcomed Rick  as our Pastor of Intergenerational Discipleship, the congregation had the opportunity to participate, too, and along the way, Pastor Chris looked at some Scriptures that spoke to thorns and brokenness. Thorns in our lives have a way of leading either to praise or embitterment. And if we'll let them, they can also lead to brokenness-- the kind of brokenness that is essential for the pastoral leadership that the church today needs so badly.

Drs. Rick Asche and Ellen Koehler were in the Ancient-Future Faith Radio studio to talk about Advent and how it deepens our spirituality and enhances our walk with Christ. The world is ready for Christmas the day after Halloween, but how might we grow if we learn to wait? Join us!

Pastor Chris wrapped up a fall series on the ascension of Christ with a comparison between the priests of the Children of Israel-- and most especially the time they led the way across the Jordan River-- and our Ultimate Priest, Jesus Christ. Some evangelicals might have a hard time relating to the notion of a priesthood, but we surely do need a priest. Thanks be to God that we have one working on our behalf even now.

On this Sunday, Dr. Rick Asche, sketched out a theology for what intergenerational discipleship can look like at Epiclesis. What might we learn from Paul's words to Timothy? And what kind of relationships, mentoring, and discipling has God called all of us to in our church? Join us!
