A groundbreaking new book out now, Rebuilding Trust: Clergy Morale in the Wake of the Abuse Crisis (Catholic University of America Press, Nov. 2025), draws on findings from the 2022 National Study of Catholic Priests - the most comprehensive survey of American clergy in over 50 years - to explore how the abuse crisis and the Church’s institutional response have shaped priestly morale, well-being, and relationships with bishops.

Stephen White is the Executive Director of The Catholic Project at The Catholic University of America. Since 2019, he has led The Catholic University of America's response to the clergy abuse crisis, focusing on the collaboration of clergy and the laity. He served as executive producer for the award-winning podcast, Crisis: Clergy Abuse in the Catholic Church. For over a decade, Mr. White has been a fellow in Catholic Studies at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, DC. His work focuses on the intersections of faith, politics, and culture, frequently applying Catholic social teaching to contemporary issues.

Pete Burak is the Vice President of Renewal Ministries, which is dedicated to Catholic renewal and evangelization around the world. He is a graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville and has a master’s degree in theology from Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. Pete is a frequent speaker on discipleship and evangelization and the co-director of Pine Hills Boys’ Camp. He is a monthly columnist for Faith Magazine and the host of two podcasts: Spirit-Filled Leadership and The Hour.Pete is the author of “A Man On Purpose” and the “What Must I Do To Be Saved” booklet.

The Rose Mass is a one-of-a-kind mass commemorating, by year, those who have lost their lives to abortion, and those who suffer as a result of choosing abortion. Mary Lockwood tells us all about it and explains their need for “walkers.”

Mary Lockwood is a pro-life activist and speaker. She is a team member of Project Rachel and Entering Canaan, both of which are ministries to help those who have experienced an abortion. Mary speaks openly about her past with the hope of helping other men and women who have walked the same path. She is a parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth.

Fr. Roger Chikri is the Regional Superior of the Maronite Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He is Chaplain of the Ave Maria Chapel in Lobby C at Domino’s Farms Office Park in Ann Arbor. He has served as a priest in many different countries and in many different environments, but always with an open heart and a generous spirit. Fr. Roger brings the heart of Jesus to everyone in his path.

9:00AM: Greeting/ Check in: Go to the Cathedral and begin looking around.

9:15AM: Take seats in Cathedral for an introduction to the day

9:30AM: Split. Authors in Room A will hear from an author and artist (Chris Darga) will be in Room B.

9:40AM: Begin talks accordingly

10:30AM: Participants go off to the inside Cathedral and Cathedral grounds to either write or sketch

11:45AM: Participants return to gathering in Room B

12:00PM: Lunch—pizza from Happy’s Pizza all in Room B

12:45PM: Option to go on pilgrimage of the saints or a possible tour

Option to continue and complete drawing or writing

1:30PM: Participants regroup. Sharing of artwork or writing

2:00PM: Turn in for the contests. Give out prizes.
