Weird Crap in Australia

Episode 044 - The Family Murders Part 1 (1979-1983)

Listen Later

The Family Murders in Adelaide, one of Australia’s most chilling and disturbing cases, spanned from 1979 to 1983, involving the abduction, abuse, and murder of young men. The victims, aged between 14 and 25, were brutally tortured and killed, with their bodies often left mutilated in various locations. The group behind these atrocities became known as "The Family," a name referring to an alleged network of wealthy and influential individuals suspected of involvement in the crimes. Many theories have circulated regarding the connections and motives of those responsible, though only one man, Bevan Spencer von Einem, was convicted in relation to the murders. Even so, investigators and the public have long believed that others involved remained beyond the reach of justice.

Join Holly & Matthew as they dive into the terrifying world of The Family Murders, exploring the horrific details, conspiracy theories, and unanswered questions that surround this infamous Australian case.
