August 10, 2000. Welsh backpacker Kirsty Jones, 23, is found raped and murdered in yet room in a small guesthouse in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Police in Thailand and Wales would spend the next 20 years investigating the case before its statute of limitations ran out, and the focus would fall on the other occupants of the guesthouse.
