The level of fear and loathing around smart cities in cooker circles is next level. Why? Because their imaginations are a wasteland of violent fantasies and these people are just walking necks looking for a boot. So they make one up.

Most of the discourse around smart cities is bullshit. In this episode we look at what a smart city actually is, what we should be worried about and what we absolutely should not be worried about.

Concerns: Police overreach. Privacy. Private companies integrating into government.

Not a concern: The term Internet of Things. Councils using universities to harvest opinions on social media to improve services. The improvement of services in general.

This was a bit of a long one - would have been 5 hours if I were given the chance, this topic is huge.
