He recounts his intense experiences, including a 1993 shooting incident with robbery suspects and a 2009 assignment in Afghanistan to rescue a kidnapped New York Times reporter. Post-retirement, Smith discusses his foray into podcasting with 'Gold Shields' and entrepreneurship with 'Impact,' a new, highly effective alternative to pepper spray.
