The Diet Diaries

Episode 13: You're a human, not a robot

Listen Later

This might be my favorite solo episode so far.

Because it dives headfirst into what I think are the biggest underlying issues for people who struggle with exercise (and food). So,  nearly every single one of us.

First, I talk about why comparing the human body to a machine is the most inaccurate and infuriating analogy ever.  Can people PLEASE stop doing this? Its causing major issues.

We are humans. Not robots. We are different EVERYDAY.

Some days we're really hungry. Some days we're not. Some days we're tired and some days we're full of energy. Some days we're in a great mood, some days we're in a crappy mood.

How can we exercise the SAME way under all of these circumstances? Spoiler alert: We can't.

And this is a big reason why so many of us have such a battle with exercise (and food....).

I talk a lot about what we need to do to stop treating ourselves like robots and start having some compassion and self kindness so that we can finally create a sustainable, healthy relationship with movement.
