You might have noticed that I’m mixing the podcast up a bit at the moment – speaking to journalists and photographers, label owners and industry people – as well as the obvious musicians that make up the majority of the episodes.

Well, in doing that, I had to speak to the head honcho at one of my very favourite indie labels, Jack Clothier, the man at the control deck of the great Alcopop! Records. If you’re a fan of Cheerbleederz, Best Ex, Art Brut, Dream Nails, Happy Accidents, Helen Love, The Spook School, Loose Articles, Peaness, Pulled Apart By Horses – I could go on, and on, and on, basically any music made with fizz in its heart – then you’ll know the label, already. But I think Jack does a great job on this episode regardless, of explaining why his label is such a special, and beloved, fixture on the scene.
