Anatoly Moskvin was a Russian historian and linguist with a disturbing secret—he was found to have exhumed the bodies of at least 26 young girls, mummified them in his apartment, and dressed them up like dolls. Claiming he wanted to preserve their spirits and believed he could bring them back to life, Moskvin kept the corpses for years, speaking to them and even celebrating their birthdays. The case shocked the world not only for its macabre nature, but also for the eerie calmness with which he described his actions—like it was the most normal thing in the world to turn your flat into a haunted dollhouse.
