In Delphi, Indiana, on February 13, 2017, 13-year-old Abigail Joyce Williams and 14-year-old Liberty Rose Lynn German were found murdered near the Monon High Bridge Trail—the same spot where they’d disappeared the previous afternoon. Their case drew intense national attention after investigators released a video and audio clip from German’s smartphone capturing a man believed to be their killer. Despite widespread publicity, the crime went unsolved for five years until Richard M. Allen was arrested in 2022, convicted in 2024, and sentenced to two consecutive 65-year terms (130 years total).
