Episode 137: Sexual Immorality

Listen Later

This episode, we expose the darkness. We don’t sugarcoat, we shine the light. We raise a standard that the world mocks—purity, holiness, covenant. It’s uncomfortable. It’s counter-cultural. It costs. You might lose friends, face ridicule, be labeled “old-fashioned.” But Jesus is still King. His standard is still the standard.

So, Christian leader: What will YOU do when compromise comes knocking and your legacy is on the line? Are you a man—or woman—of conviction, or will you bow?

Buckle up. This is raw. This is real. This is spiritual war. Let’s get after it.

Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.(1 Corinthians 6:18-20)

Key Takeaways:

01:29 - We’re going to be talking about one of the greatest existential threats to the Christian life today, and that’s sexual immorality. This includes a lot of things, including pornography, lust, impure thoughts, sex outside of marriage, and the widespread sexualization of our culture. I mean, it’s everywhere. This is a spiritual cancer. And it’s about time we call it out, drag it into the light and declare war against it in Jesus name.

22:49 - Today’s episode isn’t about condemnation. Far from it. Instead, it’s about freedom. It’s about redemption. It’s about restoration. Because like it says In Romans 8:1, there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus... You see, if you’re in Christ, your past does not define you. Your addiction does not disqualify you. Your history of sexual sin, of sexual immorality, does not have the final word. Because the good news is, God’s grace is stronger than your worst failure.

26:21 - That standard is you. That standard is me. That standard is the church. We can’t change the culture by blending in. You change a culture by standing out. We must live such radically pure lives that it convicts the darkness all around us. We need leaders who don’t just preach about righteousness, but walk in it. CEOs, executives, pastors, parents, even social media influencers who just raise up their hands and say, I’m not going to bow to lust. I’m not going to tolerate impurity. I will live set apart. That’s why the enemy works overtime to get us to compromise. Because compromised Christians can’t carry revival.
