Gemma and Ian chat to Oliver Rowe and Michelle Gasgarth from Ford UK. Oliver and Michelle tell us about their roles within Ford UK about Ford's journey to building a better world and the action they have taken and will take in sustainability. Ford have been committed to sustainability for many years and in but as the world becomes so much more focused on planet protection, they are bringing out initiatives and reports to support their journey of sustainability.

Ford of Britain has been number one commercial vehicle brand for 57 years, and is rolling out an electrified range so that, by 2026, 100% of our cars will be zero-emissions capable, all-electric or plug-in hybrid. The UK is Ford's third-largest global market and accounts for around 30% of total Ford vehicle sales in Europe. Ford directly employs 6,500 people in the UK, with thousands more employed in its extensive dealer network. The Ford Britain Dunton Campus in Essex is the home of its European commercial vehicle business group, the Ford of Britain & Ireland sales company and Ford's banking arm – Ford Credit Europe.

Oliver Rowe has been in the Ford press office since 1999, joining from local newspapers. Before training as a journalist, he had worked in France and Germany for the former Rover / Land Rover group in parts and distribution. The Ford press office brings together both specialisms – communications and languages within automotive!

Michelle Gasgarth has been at Ford since 2012 and has a wealth of experience in different functions throughout the organisation from Purchasing to Sales to Customer Experience to Marketing. Outside of Ford my ambition is to get as many young people inspired about the outdoors and nature as I possibly can. Having worked as a volunteer Duke of Edinburgh Award leader to being a parent scout leader today it is something I am passionate about – to understand nature, you have to be in nature.
