In this guest episode Dana interviews Kate Killion who is a dietitian and PhD candidate at the University of Connecticut. Kate earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science from Boston University in 2018, and a Master of Public Health degree in Dietetics from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2021. Kate is passionate about public health nutrition, nutrition education, and ensuring all people have the tools they need to eat a healthy, enjoyable diet. These passions led to her current line of research, which aims to incorporate multi-level determinants of diet quality into an intervention for low-income caregivers of young children. Kate is also building a private practice for pediatric nutrition counseling. Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Kate enjoys spending time outside, reading fiction novels, and exploring new coffee shops.
