What a Friend We have in Jesus

God's mission for us is to not throw out the wish dream of friendship, it's to find that kind of friendship in Him. 

Two Truths on Prayer: 

• prayer is not a performance, it's a place to be honest 
• a wandering mind in prayer is actually a gift

From the very beginning, God took the day off to spend time with us. He pursues us. 

In the gospels, the One who has the answers to every single question, wasn't concerned about giving the answers, He was concerned about relationships. 

We see in the friendship of Jesus: 

1. He pursues
2. He loves you at your best and at your worst 
3. He knows you and He lets you know Him (John 10) 
   1. Matthew 7 - Have we ever let Christ know us?
   2. Mark 9 - He asks questions not because He doesn't know the answer, but so that He can woo your heart out of hiding. 
4. He gives His life for His friends 
   1. You are fully forgiven for ALL of it. You cannot outsin the cross.
   2. He earned life on your behalf. 
   3. Hebrews 4 - we can approach our friendship with God confidently

Nothing goes to waste with Jesus our friend.
