Episode 15: How the pandemic has shifted the paradigm of exercise

Listen Later

Just me on episode 15, talking about change....and the way the pandemic has totally changed the way I teach and opened up so many opportunities for us to rethink the way exercise and movement shows up in our lives.

I never had an interest in teaching online. It was literally the last thing I ever wanted to do.  I taught 60-75 minute in person classes because that is the way yoga and strength was taught, and that was that.

Until it wasn't. Until I got the unbelievable chance to reconsider everything. It took time, and its still evolving, but I think where we are now has been a huge paradigm shift for the better.

I get into some specifics about all of this including:

  • why half hour classes are a game changer

  • how being forced to exercise at home  has shown us how to lower the barrier to entry

  • how we can make exercise less "separate" and a more integrated,  seamless, part of our lives

  • why the older adults in your life need support with movement now more than ever

  • and maybe most importantly why its ok to exercise in your PJs

After listening, I encourage you think about how has your relationship with movement and exercise shifted over the last year? What's working for you? What's not working?  And then send me a DM or an email because I'd love to discuss.
