Each year, more than 6,000 people in the Netherlands fall victim to human trafficking, many of them foreigners. The Dutch capital of Amsterdam, known historically for its laid-back policies, sees some of Europe’s highest sex trafficking rates, and the issue continues to dominate the national discussion. Join me as I look at the history of Amsterdam’s sex trade and some of the stories of those who have seen the most depraved side of the “Venice of the North”.
