In 2007, Melanie attempted to take her own life because she was suppressing 17 years of sexual abuse that resulted in mental health issues. She survived those dark moments. However, in 2011, Melanie was hit with more challenges. Melanie gave birth to twins, who are both disabled, and soon after became a single mom. She’s since recovered, by using tools that support her mental health and well-being.
Now, Melanie is a mental health advocate, president at a non-profit organization, and founder of an IT consulting company. She now has a passion for spreading hope, joy and inspiration to those facing difficult times in life, to show them they aren’t alone, and that there is light at the end of the tunnel.
