March 2023 witnessed the beginning of campaign season for Guatemala’s general elections. With less than three months before the June 25 vote, concerns are mounting among national and international observers over the integrity of the process due to Guatemala’s Supreme Electoral Tribunal having blocked several opposition candidates from running. This includes candidates of the Movement for the Liberation of Peoples grassroots political party.
