Some days start exactly as planned. Others begin with a 7am call that changes everything. Today I experienced firsthand how humans shift into crisis mode when circumstances demand it - and what that reveals about the resilience we all carry within us.
On day 1960 of my consecutive running streak, I watched a friend respond to his father's heart attack with remarkable clarity and purpose. Despite being unprepared for the news, his body and mind seemed to automatically provide exactly what was needed. This got me thinking about how we can access this kind of focused energy intentionally, rather than waiting for emergencies to reveal our capacity.
As I work toward completing 40,075km and raising £1M for children's causes, today's lesson reinforced why daily consistency matters. It's not about feeling motivated every morning - it's about building systems so deeply ingrained they operate regardless of how we feel. The children we're supporting don't get days off from their battles, and neither can our commitment to supporting them.
