Today marks day 1977 of my barefoot-style running streak and 19,770km covered towards my mission to run 40,075km around the world while raising £1M for children's causes. During today's run, I reflected on something we all face: those conversations we keep putting off because we're anxious about how they'll go. Over nearly six years of daily running, I've developed the OCHE framework for handling difficult discussions. It starts with facing the worst-case scenario, identifying what you can and cannot control, having a clear plan, and removing emotion from the process. The same discipline that keeps me running every single day applies to communication challenges. Whether it's a business discussion, a personal conflict, or addressing something important with family, this systematic approach removes much of the anxiety and improves outcomes. With 20,305km still ahead and funds still being raised for Great Ormond Street Hospital and BBC Children in Need, I'm reminded daily that breaking down big challenges into manageable parts is the key to progress.
