So, this episode is your chance to learn about me - your host of The QB DadCast. For those who don’t know me that well, I thought this would be a great opportunity to allow Ty control of the microphone and ask me the questions. As I mentioned in episode 1, Ty is my college teammate and the man responsible for lighting the fire to get the podcast off the ground!
Ty asks me questions about my life as a dad but also dives into my relationship with my father. You get to learn about the challenges of how my wife and I have supported him with his dementia while still working hard to be the best dad I can be. This is a very vulnerable episode for me and I hope it inspires others to open up and talk about challenges and diseases that we all might face one day.
As hard as this journey has been to support my dad, I wouldn't trade it for the world. I've learned more about myself and also have grown and matured in ways that helped me become a better father and husband, too. What is very ironic is that this episode is being released on my father's birthday, completely unplanned!
Happy Birthday, Dad! I love you.
