In today's episode of Psych Talk I discuss college student suicide. Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for college students, with over 1,100 suicides annually in the United States. In this episode I provide statistics on college student suicide and mental health, discuss risk factors and warning signs of suicide specific to the college student population, as well as protective factors. I discuss ways college campuses can support students who are suicidal, as well as discuss prevention, intervention, and postvention efforts on college campuses.
This will be the last episode of Psych Talk for Season 4. So follow updates on social media for Season 5's release and, until then, feel free to go back and listen to previous episodes.
