Kid Congo Powers is one of Lydia's oldest friends.

They met when the California native showed up on Lydia's doorstep on LES, NYC, and ended staying with her for six months. Since then, Kid Congo has gone on to become a prolific guitarist and singer. He has been a member of The Gun Club, The Cramps and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. He has also played with the Divine Horsemen, the Angels of Light, Die Haut, and Knoxville Girls. For over ten years he has fronted his own band The Pink Monkey Birds.  Kid Congo is also the guitarist for Wolfmanhattan project. The new Wolfmanhattan project album Blue Gene Stew was just released.
