On this program we celebrate St. Patrick's Day. The day is commemorated in Ireland as the anniversary of the death of St. Patrick, who brought Christianity to Ireland in the 5th century. Nothing in the Irish traditions features green beer or corned beef and cabbage – those have been American additions. We'll hear Irish music from America, and also from Ireland, Canada, and Germany. Songs and tunes come from Declan O'Rourke, Cathy Ryan, Kevin Burke, Stout, Dervish, We Banjo 3 and others. Music for St. Patrick's Day … this week on the Sing Out!
