There is an abundance of singer-songwriters on the folk music scene. Many are quite talented but, in this age of self-produced recordings, many are less so. However, there is not an abundance of great instrumental recordings. It takes quite a bit more talent and compositional ability to construct a fine instrumental recording. The project must be a cohesive creation and not just a series of jams.
