The #Rockies have clinched their first postseason appearance since 2009, but it'll be a very brief one if they can't get past the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday.
Host Shawn Drotar and guest Casey Light break the game down; first looking closely at the starting pitching matchup -- Colorado's Jon Gray vs. Arizona's Zach Greinke -- while comparing and contrasting the way each man is expected to attack the other's batting order. The Rockies, with a pair of MVP candidates in Charlie Blackmon and Nolan Arenado, are loaded with power throughout the lineup and have boom-or-bust potential, while the Diamondbacks sport a pair of the league's best hitters in Paul Goldschmidt and mid-season acquisition J.D. Martinez.
Light, a former collegiate pitcher, talks about Gray's mindset prior to his first-ever postseason start, and the pair decide whether the Rockies' most-expensive free-agent acquisition -- 1B/LF Ian Desmond -- should even start this important winner-take-all battle.
Win or lose, the Rockies finally appear to have turned a corner for their franchise... but winning it would mean even more. Scout out the game with the "Blake Street Irregulars".
