On today’s episode we’re joined by Lydia Martyn — a South Carolina native from Anderson who played volleyball at Liberty University, where she earned her bachelor’s in social work. She later transferred to the University of Oklahoma for her master’s and got married to her now-husband, Zach Martyn, during that time. Lydia just wrapped up her rookie professional season with Indy Ignite of the Pro Volleyball Federation.

Lydia admits that she honestly had no idea what a “sooner” was until she transferred. Attending OU allowed her to gain a better understanding of what it means to be a sooner for life.

Her favorite sooner memory is meeting the fans after games-It is the best way to connect with young athletes and she still talk to some of those girls today.
