Pop Music in the 1960's had progressed beyond the dictate of a two minute pop song and expanded the sound of a band by adding exotic instrumentation and more topical lyrics. These are some examples of the musical exploration that musicians had created in the recording studio. The music was extended in length in some cases and the overall effect of this new music was breathtaking and inspiring.
