The final mainline FF title for the SNES, FF6 pushed the boundaries of what a JRPG could be, and set a new tone for the series moving forward; whereas 1 through 5 were somewhat more lighthearted, 6 marks the beginnings of the FF series tackling heavier, more mature topics and themes.
