John Dwyer is a founding member of the band Thee Oh Sees, with whom he has recorded 22 studio albums. John is also a former member of Coachwhips, Pink and Brown and The Hospitals. In 2003, John co-founded Castle Face Records.
Earlier this summer, Castle Face Records announced the release of an album from his new group, Bent Arcana. Joining John are: keyboardist Kyp Malone, percussionist, and vocalist Ryan Sawyer, bassist Peter Kerlin, saxophonist Brad Caulkins, keyboardist Tom Dolas, guitarist Marcos Rodriguez, violinist Laena Myers-Ionita, tenor saxophonist Joce Soubiran, and percussionist Andres Renteria.
In the late 90s, John set out from his home town of Providence, Rhode Island to find another city to live in. He settled in San Francisco after encountering and liking the fact a rude barista who while talking on her cell phone referred to him as "some asshole".
