As a young child Robert Berdella was bullied so he spent a lot of his time alone painting, writing to pen pals, and collecting coins and stamps. Unfortunately, while growing up his father physically and emotionally abused both Robert and his younger brother Daniel. Eventually Robert graduated from high school and enrolled at an art institute although that only lasted a couple years when he unenrolled himself because of his behavior at school. From there Robert turned to a life of murder holding his victim’s hostage while torturing them in unimaginable ways.
