Former Superintendent John ‘Spud’ Murphy has been moved to the open prison Shelton Abbey where he will now have to mix with killers and rapists for the first time.

The crooked cop who was caught stashing drugs in his Dublin home is serving a prison term while still under investigation for allegations that he worked with criminal gangs during a high-powered and decorated career.
