Public Health Insight

Episode 8 - COVID-19's Impact on Global Poverty and SDGs

Listen Later

The ongoing pandemic has now directly or at least indirectly affected the health and economies of the world's 195 countries. The public health panel discusses the unique implications for those of lower socioeconomic status and what it means if more people fall beneath the poverty line, creating the highest poverty rates observed since the 1990s. The  Public Health Insight Team takes this poverty analysis a step further and examines possible barriers for reaching the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
